Kimono wearing lessons

I took kimono-wearing classes today. When I was folding a kimono, I stopped my hand and gazed at the beautiful color of kimono.
This kimono is called "Ooshima-tumugi". According to my teacher, this kimono is local speciality of Amami-Ooshima in Kagoshima prefecture.

Learning how to wear is very hard. After the lesson, I tried to wear it by myself, but it didn't go well. It is regrettable that few Japanese people knows how to wear Japanese traditional clothing.
The picture below is the one my teacher dressed me last time. Hope I can wear it by myself soon!

今日着物教室を受けました。着物をたたむとき、思わず手を止めて、奇麗な着物の色に見とれてしまいました。
この着物は大島紬とだそうです。着付けの先生によると、着物は鹿児島県の奄美大島の特産物だそうです。

着付けは難しいですね。レッスン後に自分で着てみましたが上手く行きませんでした。
日本の伝統衣装なのに、自分で着れないのは残念ですよね。

早く自分で着付けができるようになりたいです！
