Izumo taisha 出雲大社 -Shinto Shrine

Izumo taisha is one of the most important and ancient Shinto shrine in Japan. The shrine is know as home of Okuninushi, the god of marriage and good luck.

It is also famous for the huge sacred rope. The reason for it is uncertain. One assumption is that people tried to unify it with the huge shrine pavilions. Also, around this area, the shrines tends to have bigger ones compared ones in other areas.

It is sad everyone will be overwhelmed by the hugeness the shrine.
I am really looking forward to go there.


出雲大社は日本でも最も壮大で伝統的な神社の一つです。神祭は大国主大神。縁結びの神、福の神として親しまれています。

また、出雲大社は巨大なしめ縄があることでも有名です。その太さの理由は不確かですが、一説によると神殿の大きさと統一感を出そう試みた結果だそうです。この地域の神社では、しめ縄が太い傾向があるとか、面白いですね＾＾

訪れた人は、誰もが出雲大社の大きさに圧倒されるのだとか！
